Samuel Vincent- Theologian and Independent Researcher
I spent two decades in aviation inspection and quality oversight before shifting my focus back to advanced theology. The same discipline and eye for detail that kept aircraft safe now drives my research into Scripture. For years I have worked behind the scenes, delving deeply into ancient Jewish traditions, Greco-Roman culture, and the world of early Christianity. My aim is demanding but clear: to recover how the earliest Christians believed, worshiped, and understood their faith- and to make that world clearer for today.
I believe the first-century church is the best guide for the twenty-first. Over time, traditions and assumptions—some well-meant, some not—have clouded the faith. By working with the original languages, the voices of the early church, and the cultural context of the New Testament world, I try to peel back those layers. My goal is not novelty, but clarity: to let Scripture speak as its first hearers would have heard it.
This means:
- Short writings that reexamine familiar verses with historical, linguistic, and cultural nuance.
- Extended studies that trace how doctrines developed, where they drifted, and how the early church understood them.
I write for those who want more than surface answers—for readers willing to wrestle with the text and to think critically about inherited assumptions.
Why I Write
For me, theology isn’t an abstract hobby. The earliest believers staked their lives on the conviction that Jesus rose from the dead and that the Spirit of God set them apart as His people. I’m convinced that recovering their clarity matters today, because faith without roots in its original soil risks distortion.
